If not repaired, it's predicted that the rear passengers of this crossover could be thrown during a hard collision.

Carmall.com - The recall of hundreds of Nissan Jukes in the United States (USA), Japan and Europe a few days ago eventually also applies to the products circulating in Indonesia.

Previously, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (USA) announced that the passenger seats in this car must be fixed or would be fatal if not.

"Yes, the Nissan Jukes in Indonesia must simultaneously be recalled and fixed. But only 300 units all over Indonesia," said Adhitya Zainuddin, the Head of Communication Manager of PT Nissan Motor Indonesia (NMI), when confirmed by carmall.com via cell-phone Thursday (19/7) afternoon.

The 300 Nissan Jukes to be recalled are units produced between March and June 2012, while the rest are safe. This number is divided further into two, 260 units that are already in use by consumers and 40 units which have been ordered but not yet delivered from NMI's warehouse.

Similar to the Nissan Jukes in the US, the production defect is located in the rear passengers' seats. The Juke's rear passengers' seats can be moved forward to allow passenger convenience in retrieving or storing luggage in the trunk.

When the rear seat is moved forward, a hook is in place to lock that seat's position. "Now, that hook has a welding defect. If we don't fix it, a front or any hard collision might throw the passenger," explained Adhit.

"Prior to this, there hasn't been any complaints made by our customers, according to the information from our headquarters. 300 customers have been informed to have their Jukes fixed at all Nissan dealers in Indonesia, with no more than an hour needed to do the repair," he closed.
