Carmall.com - Tuesday (11/12), took place in Grand Ballroom of Kempinski in the Central Jakarta, PT. Toyota Astra Motor is back to introduce their new product for the Indonesian upper class MPV market, NAV1 (read: NAV One).

NAV1 will complete Toyota MPV products which has been existing in the Indonesian market. Some of them are Toyota Avanza, Toyota Kijang Innova and Toyota Alphard. Toyota NAV1 will fit the market absence between Kijang Innova and Toyota Alphard.

Toyota NAV1 which in the overseas market named NOAH will be produced in CKD (Completely Knock Down) under the supervision of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia in the factory of Toyota in Cibitung, Bekasi.

On the question from the journalists about the naming of this new product, Johnny Darmawan as the President Director of Toyota Astra Motor said that the principals of Toyota in Japan revealed the importance of MPV market in Indonesia so they specially requested a name that would represent the new product from Toyota for the need of Indonesia n consumer. Then name NAV1 or Navigator Number 1 which is the image of this product for the classy navigation vehicle for the VIP passenger and driver.

On the sales target, Johnny Darmawan said that NAV1 is expected to be sold around 400-500 units in the first month, with the First Delivery process that will start in the beginning of January 2013.

Asking about this year's sales of Toyota Astra Motor, the total market of MPV segment from Toyota is about 456.281 from overall Toyota MPV products. This MPv market is said to be not fully explored because the market interest share on MPV is 44,4%.
