History of Toyota sportcar is back with the launch of All New Toyota 86.

Carmall.com - PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) has given a realization for the sport car fanatic's dream with the arrival of All New Toyota 86 to Indonesia. "Today Toyota proves to be the one manufacturer with the most complete line-up in the world, ranging from the premium to sport class", opens Johnny Darmawan, President Director PT TAM, at Plaza Barat Senayan, Jakarta (1/6).

All New Toyota 86 is a development from a long history line of the previous Toyota sport cars. Toyota AE-86 or Hachiroku (1983-1986) known not only to its great performance and handling becomes the platform for the latest Toyota 86's development.

Meanwhile, in terms of powertrain, this two-door sedan has Toyota Sport 800's / Yotahachi engine underneath its hood, adopted into a front engine rear wheel drive formation. Toyota also claimed that by using this flat engine, its toughness and fuel efficiency will reach optimum level

At the design department, the sensual yet elegant design of Toyota 2000GT has been transferred over and be used as the base for All New Toyota 86. The end result speaks for more apparent aerodynamics. This can also be seen in the engine hood and headlamps of the sharp All New Toyota 86. Toyota also decorated its rear with LED lights and a pair of mufflers.

Built by passion
As uttered by Joko Trisantoyo, Marketing Director of TAM, All New Toyota 86 was built based on passion dedicated for them who love to drive (fun to drive). Therefore this car was crafted into something so good looking without sacrificing its own performance, while being fairly easy to drive for both beginners and professionals.

In terms of power generator, 'The Next Hachiroku' uses a 2.000 cc Boxer engine, coded 4U-GSE. Complemented with D-4S (Direct Injection 4-stroke Gasoline Superior) technology, Hachiroku able to churn out power up to 187hp at 7.000 rpm and at the same time remains easy on the fuel (claim: 9.3km/litre in the city and 12.75 km/litre outside of the city).

All New Toyota 86 uses a rear-wheel drive system with centre of gravity positioned at a lower level (460mm), it also applies 6-speed manual and automatic transmission (plus paddle shift).

Hachiroku's racing spirit made thicker with the use of semi-racing seats accompanied with small diameter steering wheel and colour options of black or combination of black and red.

In the driver's cockpit, the owner will see a digital panel that goes with speedometer and analogue tachometer. Diverse features have been inserted including the earlier said paddle shift (automatic transmission), cruise control, and airbags in several points (driver, passenger and knees).

With configuration of 2+2 seating arrangement, the new Hachiroku comes in three different variants, Standard type with manual transmission (Rp. 600 million) and Automatic (Rp. 610 million) and Aero package A/T model for Rp. 623 million.

Consumers can also pick from several choices of colours such as; Satin White Pearl, Dark Grey, Crystal Black Silica, Sterling silver, Lightning Red, Galaxy Blue Silica and Orange. All New Toyota 86's presence is ready to continue the heritage of Toyota sport car in the future. Cheers!
