Carmall.com - Chevrolet announces their leave from the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). Together with RML (Ray Mallock Ltd.,) this US automaker intends to close the 2012 racing season with a sweet victory.

Susan Docherty, President and Managing Director of Chevrolet Europe confess that after the winter has passed, Chevrolet will focuses on their brand activities in different fields.

"We are very proud with the two World Championship titles that we have won in the WTCC, as well as the 59 victories during the last eight years, WTCC has become one of the strongest brand platform for Chevrolet in Europe and other markets throughout the world. Chevrolet and RML team are currently looking forward to close the racing season with a victorious conquest and at the same time securing the third World Championship title", adds Susan.

For three consecutive years, Chevrolet racing team has proven the toughness of Chevrolet Cruze. Yvan Muller, Rob Huff and Alain Menu are what comprises the Chevrolet races who all of them sit in the top three position of the WTCC this season. According to Susan, this achievement is by far incomparable with the other brands. Though they have confirmed their leave, but that doesn't mean that they entirely retire from the motorsport scene instead they just changes the platform into IndyCar and GT race.
