Volvo will shift the XC90 2002 platform with the 2014 model. However the old platform will also be recycled by Geely for their latest product development.
Carmall.com - Swedish automaker, Volvo will enliven the premium SUV market battle with their XC90 which will arrive in 2014. The latest XC90 will be build using a new platform and it will be on par with their rival such as BMW's X5 and Mercedes' ML model. However, fresh news from inautonews.com revealed that Geely will be using the old XC90 platform for their new products which also will play in the SUV segment.
Well, Geely is not the first manufacturer to adopt the said platform, because it has been already used by Ford and Volvo in several of their models, namely the Taurus, Explorer, Flex, Lincoln MKS and MKT.
On the previous Beijing Auto Show, Geely displays their first SUV under the name GL Eagle GX7. This car provides two choices of power plant, 4G18 1.800 cc and 4G20 with 2.000 cc capacity. I wonder what Geely's latest SUV will look like?
