Carmall.com - PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motor (KTB) as the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Indonesia has launched the Mitsubishi Mirage. The compact car is Mitsubishi's first city car to be launched in Indonesia.

The needs of the urban crowd who are active and dynamic, as well as inclined to pursuing everything stylish in their daily lives have been interpreted by Mitsubishi into the Mirage's design.

Carrying Eco, Easy and Fun-to-Drive as well as Convenience as its concept, this vehicle is fitted with a 1,200cc MIVEC engine with INVECS III CVT transmission. This car, during its test runs in Japan, claimed 27.1km per litre fuel economy, while Thailand roads claimed 21km per litre. There hasn't been any tests in Indonesia, but estimations put the number no larger than those two results.

Mitsubishi Motors Indonesia will be introducing three Mirage variants (CBU) into the Indonesian market, from the lowest variant, the GLX-5 MT (Rp139 million), the GLS-CVT (Rp152 million), to the highest, the Exceed-CVT (165 million), all on-the-road prices for the Jabotabek area..


Exterior

Mirage is designed for aerodynamics. This can be seen from its body shape that comes smooth and devoided of any sort of bold lines. The application of the High Tensile material for this vehicle's body makes the Mirage lightweight, strong, as well as having an economical fuel consumption. Bright colours have also been served for consumers in Indonesia. Colour choices such as pop green, lemon yellow, red, white, silver, grey, and black.

Its 3,710mm length and 1,665 width and 1,500mm height provide the Mirage with a spacious cabin for a city car. Mirage's dimensions also provide benefits in city-road manoeuvring, especially with its 4.4-metre turning radius adding this vehicle's ability for daily use.


Interior

A spacious impression is the first thing you'll feel upon entering the Mirage's cabin. In fact, the back of this vehicle provides 199 litres of space for the luggage. The application of high fabric material for the seat provides the driver with comfort in driving this vehicle, while the interior has been made two-tone (black and beige), for the Exceed variant, and also solid black to exude an elegant impression.

Moving onto the audio console on the dashboard, the Mitsubishi Mirage comes with a 4-speaker audio system that is equipped with an USB port, allowing you to play your MP3 collection, and a CD player, all in one package. Another unique feature is the air conditioning inside the cabin that can switched to maximum just by a push of a button located on the dashboard.

There's the Multi Information Display (MID) on the dashboard console to accompany the driver during travels. The MID also indicates distance travelled and fuel consumption per kilometer, as well as can function as a reminder for maintenance schedules. This function allows the driver to not miss the vehicle's periodic maintenance.

The main feature on the Mirage is the application of the Keyless Operating System (KOS) on the Exceed, and there's also the One-Touch Start System (OSS). KOS is a key system that is integrated to the car's system, making a car key obselete. By bringing KOS inside the pocket, the driver will only have to touch the vehicle from 70cm, or less, away for the car to automatically open and have it ready for operation, the latter of which is by pressing on the start and stop button. Same thing when leaving the car, this feature automatically locks the car in 30 seconds.

Passenger safety inside the Mitsubishi Mirage is guaranteed with the RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) feature, which is able to distribute impact force during collisions. Furthermore, the airbags and seatbelts, which are equipped with ELR (Electronic Locking Reactor), increases the safety level in driving the Mirage.


Performance

The 1200cc 12-valve 3-cylinder DOHC MIVEC engine planted in all of this car's variants can produce a maximum output 77Ps at 6,000rpm and 1,000Nm of torque at 4,000rpm, promising a relatively efficient fuel consumption compared to the competitors in the same class.

The newest feature is Mitsubishi's transmission technology, the INVECS III CVT, as the Mirage's automatic transmission. This transmission helps improve the vehicle's handling performance. The Shift Lock system will switch the N to P to make it easier for the driver during parallel parking situations.
