PREMIUM-STYLE SUV

This product of collaboration between two automakers has the advantage of being a 7-seater. While the quiet cabin and the audio controls on the steering wheel make this SUV a comfortable ride.

Carmall.com - Before deciding on buying a low-end SUV, you should first consider its plusses and minuses, whether the features, price, model, or resell value. The reason? Because not everything that's said in a commercial contains a grain of truth. For that reason, we must be wise by gathering all information about the car we are eyeing for.

Low-end SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicle) such as the Daihatsu Terios could be an addition to your list of SUV options to someday reside in your home garage.

Yup! The Terios itself entered Indonesia in 2006 and has been here ever since. This SUV, which is the result of a collaboration between two car producers, Toyota (Rush) and Daihatsu, is an SUV to replace the Daihatsu Taruna (1996-2006) and the Daihatsu Feroza (well-known in the 1990s).

The Terios in the European market, to which it was also introduced in 2006, is the short chassis version, whereas the Terios in Indonesia features a longer chassis and is a 7-seater.

Unfortunately, when it comes to features, this Terios, which was brought in by ADM (Astra Daihatsu Motor), is not equipped with devices such as ABS (Anti-lock Brake System), EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) and airbags, unlike the Toyota Rush or the European version of the Terios.

Perhaps that is why this facelift version of the Daihatsu Terios 2011 is better-priced than the Toyota Rush. For example, the Terios' most exclusive variant, the Terios Adventure (manual) has a price tag of Rp.198 million, while the Rush G (manual) is sold at Rp.205 million.

Interior

Compared to its previous version regarding the interior, changes can be seen on the meter cluster, which now features a chrome frame. Audio controls are also now present on the steering wheel, making it easier for the driver to operate the head unit.

Listening to music while conversing with other passengers should have minimal disturbance from conditions outside the car, as the noise level inside the Terios facelift's cabin has been improved to 71.8 desibels (db) from a previously 73db.

Cabin capacity has increased, as part of the second row seats can be fully folded, so too with the third row seats.
