A Sporty Double-Cab

Despite its American flavour, the Mazda BT 50 is the only Japanese Double-Cab pick-up that's available in the market and is not produced in its native country

Carmall.com - On that Tuesday (22/11), the sky was just gloomy, hinting the rain that was to come. So, we made the decision to cancel our plans to test the Mazda BT-50 4x4 on dirt and slopy terrains. It was to avoid getting the vehicle stuck on wet dirt, considering the tyre-type on the BT-50 at the time was the All Terrain, instead of the Mud Terrain. There's only one word suited for the Mazda BT-50's cabin serenity, "Salute!". Rainfall on the roof or loud noises outside the car were simply prevented from entering this 5-passenger pick up's cabin.

The blade-like windshield wipers, with its mode options of fast, medium and slow, were able to clean the windshield without disrupting drivers' visibility.

Thanks to the adjustable seats, optimum visibility is made possible despite the high ground clearance and wide bonnet of the car.

Interior

At first, I had pictured the BT-50's interior to be just plain standard-looking. However, I was proven wrong with its contemporary set-up that will impress most, if not all critiques.

Passenger comfort includes numerous compartments throughout the cabin, which makes it convenient for the driver and passengers in securing and organising their bits and pieces.

The fabric-wrapped seats are firm and comfortable to seat on. What's more, the back seats are equipped with arm rests, with two cupholders up front. The doortrims on the front doors also have pockets big enough for even large maps. And, there are also cupholders.

Also, if you're an active person, the BT-50 provides a 12V socket for running your notebook or for recharging the batteries of your mobile phone.
