Ever since its debut in 2003, the Suzuki APV Arena has become one of the favourite family cars for Indonesian buyers. Amid fierce competition from competitors, the car is proven to exist until today.
Spacious interior and affordable price are thought to be the main appeals of the car. Yet how does it feel to drive the eight-seater family car?
CarMall.Com had the chance to test-drive a mid-tier 2011 APV Arena GX. For your information, APV Arena has four variants. Starting from the cheapest, they are GL, GX, SGX, and SGX Luxury. Here are our experiences in driving the car through the streets of Jakarta:
Exterior
Outside, the boxy body of the 2011 APV Arena GX is dominated by straight lines. As an MPV, the car has medium dimensions. Compared to its predecessor, the latest car boasts bigger and brighter head lamps with multi-reflector.
Slightly different to the 2010 edition, the new van is adorned with a new grille. The fog lamps on the front bumper are also moved to lower positions. Other cosmetic updates for the car include a chromed luggage door handle and more modern tail lights.

Equipped with electric side mirrors, the car allows its driver to easily arrange the rear view of the car. The side mirrors are enclosed in casings which are painted in the same colour as the car's body. That makes the car look tidier. The rear window is equipped with a wiper to provide better rear-view via centre mirror in the rain.
Yet unlike the SGX type, which costs slightly more expensive, the 2011 APV Arena GX is not provided with accessories like roof spoiler and side steps. To roll its big body, the MPV is equipped with 15 inch alloy wheels which are covered in Bridgestone 185/80 R14 tires.
