A Dream Low MPV
This Toyota's latest generation low MPV looks more upmarket and promises a comfortable and efficient ride for families.

Excellent visibility also supports the driving comfort of the car. PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) as the producer of Avanza-Xenia has made the A-pillars more slopy and the side windows wider.
Although this variant is not the most exclusive - the honor going to the Veloz - its Single DIN entertainment system is potent enough to kill any hints of boredom during rides, whether fleetingly short or gruelingly long ones.
Unfortunately, the new high position of the side-view mirrors has inadvertently created more blind spots.
Performance
The All New Avanza may still have the same powertrain as its predecessor, namely the 1,300cc K3-VE engine, but the manufacturer has lowered the torque from 120Nm to 117Nm.
However, the reduced torque doesn't seem to affect acceleration. Additionally, the Avanza is already equipped with Electric Power Steering (EPS).
We can say that the EPS is a true driving convenience. It may feel a tad bit lighter, but control remains just as easy. EPS is also claimed able to improve the car's fuel economy from 11.6km/L to 12.6km/L, or 8.62% greater efficiency.
Other factors also contributing to this MPV's increased fuel efficiency include reduced engine rotation during idle and under 50rpm conditions, 30kg less kerb weight, and lesser tyre rolling resistance.

Less Body Roll
As with the engine, Toyota have also kept its predecessor's Macpherson strut suspension in the front and Multi-link at the back. However, TAM claims that the springs and dampers' stiffness has been re-calibrated for better stability.
So, we decided to roll up the idea of having that claim someway tested. We took this Daihatsu Xenia's twin for a slashing of a road that is characterised by several sharp corners of varying types.
In taking those corners, we maintained the Avanza at a stable speed of 60-70km/h. Kudos, body roll was markedly insignificant.
The All New Avanza's suspension has apparently been made smooth. The consequence of this is perhaps the need for subtle driving and some effort to discover the rythm, hence further work in adjusting, with the re-calibrated suspension that has been set for enhanced fun-to-drive experience.
Do keep in mind though, that the All New Avanza still hasn't applied airbags and ABS. Nevertheless, this car's GOA technology should do decently well in absorbing collisions.
Exterior
Upon parking in one mall, the Toyota Avanza 1.3 G A/T that we tested made some heads turn, for reasons only known to them perhaps, but this car is certainly high-profile.
