Now, if you're interested in buying a Honda, PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) offers prospective consumers purchasing convenience through their "Saatnya Punya Honda" (English: It's time to own a Honda) program. This program offers the purchase of a New Honda Jazz Type S or a New Honda Freed S at a 3-year Rp.2.5 million monthly installments and 20% down payment.

This program, which was introduced in the 2011 Indonesia International Motor Show and applies nationwide, also offers flexible credit plans, such affordable down payments and low interest credits (as low as 2.5%), in addition to other credit plans. The Freed is not the only one with a program, the New CR-V, Odyssey, City, Civic and the Accord also have a program of their own, namely free V-Kool window films.

"Manufacturers are simultaneously having promotions that runs to the end of the year, with no available information about whether the program will be continued or not," revealed Hendra from Honda Autoland, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Nissan authorised dealers offer a consumer-income-adjustable down payment and installments package, while another producer, Hyundai, are competing with their own year-end program called "Gelegar Akhir Tahun" (English: year-end thunder). "Buy a Hyundai New Avega now and the consumer will get direct prizes, namely parking sensors, window films, GPS, leather seats and fog lamps," said Danang, a sales marketing at Hyundai.

But if a Suzuki is your target, you can get a year-end promotional package that offers low down payment and affordable installments, and a direct Rp.14 million discount for purchases of any type, cash or credit. "This promo is valid for November and December only. And as of early 2012, it expires. Of course the down payment and installments will return to its normal value, and perhaps even higher, as car prices will rise," Lia explained, a sales promotion at Suzuki, Buana Indomobil Trada, Pondok Indah, South Jakarta.

A similar year-end promo has been launched by American automaker, Ford. Unfortunately, the recent Thailand flood resulted in limited numbers of units produced. For that reason, according to Lina, a sales counter at Ford South Jakarta, the discounts offered are limited, namely Rp.3 million for the Fiesta, while the Everest and the Escape have a Rp.10 million cash discount for every purchase, cash or credit.

Based on field observations, not all brand holders have launched a nationwide sales program (all dealer networks). But don't worry, there's still a chance that individual authorized dealers launch their own promotional programs. In fact, the packages may even be more attractive for consumers. If you're a consumer outside the Jabodetabek area, it's wise to be discerning about every dealer promotion program or prizes you are about to receive.
