Carmall.com - Thursday (2/8), Japanese automaker, Toyota Motor Corp, announced the recall of two of its vehicle models in the US market, namely the RAV4 and the Lexus HS250h.

Reportedly, as many as 760 thousand RAV4s and 18 thousand Lexus HS250hs are under recall, as reported by autonews.com on Thursday (2/8).

These two models were mentioned to have faulty rear suspension arms that need repair. Toyota explained that the component must be repaired immediately to restore its alignment with the rear wheel.

Its importance is related to the rear suspension's function in absorbing vibration received by the wheel when going through uneven roads, as well as in suppressing or damping vibration to minimise shaking.

If left unrepaired, the threaded portion of the rear suspension could potentially wear out and eventually tear. If that happens, the vehicle will experience body roll when being driven, especially at high speeds, with the worst outcome being the driver's inability to avoid an accident. Just some additional information, Toyota has also performed recalls on these same two models back in 2006 and 2011.
