Carmall.com - Hot news reported by WRC site (6/7) following the statement that tells Toyota will make a comeback to the FIA World Rally Championship. The news was released based on Yoshiaki Kinoshita's statement, President Motorsport from Toyota Motor Corporation, if it were to be true then they are most likely to comeback in 2014.

As you all know, Toyota's last participation in the WRC was in 1999, after they have decided to concentrate more on Formula one event. As a preparation, the Japanese automotive goliath is currently building a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine, as required by the WRC regulations. While at the same time, Toyota also rumoured to seek approval from FIA to use the Yaris as a base in developing their rally vehicle, even though this model is 15 cm shorter than the 3.9 metre regulated length enforced in the WRC.

"We hope to realize our intention by 2014", explained Kinoshita, as reported by Autosport magazine. "Even though we have to undergone several phases just to return to the WRC, we still need a few steps to be done. Since our last departure from the event in 199, we feel that some adjustments are in order in terms of engine development, chassis and of course we also need to propel our knowledge level, then after all that have been done, I think we are ready."
