Toyota will release its GRMN Sports Hybrid Concept II, modeled after the MR2 Sports Hybrid Concept
Carmall.com - The GRMN in its name stands for GAZOO Racing tuned by Meister of Nurburgring and is named after Hiromu Naruse, Toyota's top test driver and leader of the GAZOO Racing team who died in a car accident while driving a Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition.
The concept vehicle is based on the MR2 Sports Hybrid Concept Roadster that was shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2010. The vehicle will premiere at the Nurburgring 24 hour race in Germany.
The concept car has a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine producing 245bhp and is equipped with rear-wheel-drive. The car also has an electric motor that sends power to its front wheels. Toyota says that the car weights 1,500kg in total and that the car has a total power output of 295 when both petrol engine and electric motor are used.
