Carmall.com - Since its introduction in 2004, the Xeniavanza (Daihatsu Xenia - Toyota Avanza) have been phenomenal. In addition to a contemporary look and good fuel economy, the 7 to 8-passenger capacity is its own point of interest for their fans. And, they are offered with choices ranging from standard to the most exclusive variant.

If the first generation (2004) was offered in the range of Rp.70 million (standard) to Rp.80 million (luxury), the current price of a fully-featured/highest grade All New Xenia or All New Avanza has doubled since. Take a look at the All New Xenia R Attivo 1.3 AT, which is priced Rp.179,300,000.-, while the All New Avanza Veloz 1.5 AT is sold Rp.180,200,000.-. Having that said, whether those prices can be considered expensive or affordable is really relative, as each consumer will probably have their own individual opinion.

In that respect, Carmall.Com remembered a solution provided by one of our acquiantances. In 2008, as he purchased an Avanza E 1.3 MT, the car felt lacking with the standard style it has to offer. Nevertheless, he gradually improved both the exterior and interior of that car to eventually be a kin to the Type S (higher variant) by applying Type S accessories abundantly available in the market.

Now, for those of you who are having thoughts about acquiring either the highest variant of the All New Xenia or the All New Avanza but are stuck with a tight budget, this solution may be worth to consider.

But hold your horses! Bearing in mind that both cars have only been in the market for less than a month, probably not many authorised dealers or spare parts and car accessories centre are already offering the latest Xeniavanza's highest variant's accessories such as sideview mirror with turn indicator, rear spoiler, fog lamp, scuff plate or lower body moulding.

According to Dewi, the Xenia STD is a production variant that hasn't received additional accessories from the dealer. "For example, the D STD M/T is not yet fitted with an audio system, body mouldings, side visors, parking sensors and alarm," she explained. Meanwhile, the STD's highest variant, the Type R (both manual and automatic) STD, doesn't come equipped with window films, alloy wheels, console box, parking sensors and chrome elements.

"To this day, accessories for the All New Xenia are not yet available at our dealer," stressed Dewi, Sales Promotion at Daihatsu, Arteri Pondok Indah, South Jakarta, as we met her a while ago. The same goes for its twin, the All New Avanza.

However, several web-based accessories merchants as well as merchants at spare parts centres already have the economical car's accessories for offer. Although still scarce and partially available, at least one or two type of components are already available. "For the All New Xeniavanza, we only have the rear roof spoiler, while the scuff plate and other items are already out of stock," revealed Budi of Kingaksesorismobil.com, an online merchant who charges Rp.575 thousand for a second grade rear spoiler, installing charge not included.

The scarcity of the All New Avanza or the All New Xenia's accessories is also admitted by Aseng at Duta Mas Fatmawati Spare Parts Centre, South Jakarta. "The accessories will probably be available two months into 2012. As for their price, no clear numbers are available. However, as a starting point, it will roughly be at the same prices as the accessories of the Xeniavanza's preceding version.
