Carmall.com - Thursday (26/7), PT Multistrada Arah Sarana Tbk (MASA) invited the media to visit their new plant, a place where tens of thousands units of Achilles and Corsa tires were made, packed and ready to be plunged into the market.

The visit was also be used as a momentum to introduce the new MASA factory which has begun its operation since September 2011. Dozens of journalists were taken on a tour of the new plant with Eko, MASA Head Production Division as their tour guide.

The second factory which occupies 10 hectares of land is able to produce up to 6.000 tires per day while the first plant scores 40.000 units of tires every day. There are two variants that are being manufactured in here, tires for car (passengers and trucks) and motorcycle.

With this new plant, MASA production volume is elevated to become 30.000 units of tires per day for car and 16.000 units per day for motorcycle's tires. Now, MASA occupies over 140 hectares of land and establishments in Cikarang, West Java.

While on the tour, the journalists were given the knowledge about the production process of Achilles tires, right from rubber sheets and formed into round tires with markings and different sizes.

M. Zein Saleh, Senior Marketing Manager MASA said that this new plant is actually a program which dated back in 2010 and an eventually realized on September last year. There is no information provided by the officials whether how much the investment made for this new plant, however Zein admitted that with the addition of a new plant, it proves that MASA is being serious in filling the market with high quality products without shortage.

"This is not an investment, but merely our work plan from 2010 and I just couldn't remember how much the budget", admits Zein while explaining that MASA have also build an HRD office and training centre which been painted in purple to match their banner's colour.

Zein adds that Achilles tire has achieved various recognitions in the drifting world. Through ATR Sport 2 tire in size 265/35 R18, MASA drifters often earned the first spot on the podium of international drift championship.

Aside from that, the factory which has been established since 1991 has just launched three new variants; Corsa R46 R 14 (motorbike), Corsa D 01 size 50/90 R17 and 60/80 R17 (motorbike), Slick for Achilles R1 size 19/57 R15 for cars with touring specification and Desert Hawk X MT in size 31/10.5 R15 which is a tire designed for off-road cars.

The visit was ended with a breakfasting event in the Jami' Multistrada mosque located in the same area of Achilles and Corsa plants.
