The Swedish carmaker, Volvo, introduces a new concept car named You at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany. The car implies the new design direction of the Volvo future cars.
"This car features a more daring profile," says Volvo's head of design Peter Horbury.
But instead of the exterior, the interior of the car provides more breakthroughs. Inside the cabin, Volvo stacks an array of multimedia features, including a digital Driver Information Monitor, a HUD (head-up display) on the windscreen, a touch-screen in the upper part of the centre console, and another one between the two rear seats.
"We used a number of touch screens to replace buttons and controls. Smartphones and pads have brought mobile infotainment into the new era. The technology helps us to create a refreshingly uncluttered interior," adds Horbury. (sgcarmart)
