Exterior
The Mazda BT-50 seems attractive with its 8 colour choices that are the Winning Blue Metallic, Black Mica, Highlight Silver Metallic, Cool White, True Red, Lagoon Blue Mica Highlight Silver Metallic, Black Mica Highlight Silver Metallic and the Titanium Grey II Metallic Highlight Silver Metallic. The last 3 colours, however, are available only with the freestyle cabin variant. The designs of the body, the headlamps and the taillights also reflect an athletic character for the pick-up from Mazda.
Interior
With the freestyle cabin variant, the interior of the Mazda BT-50 feels pretty comfortable for 4 to 5 passengers altogether. For the single cabin variant, on the other hand, the car can accommodate 2 passengers, including the driver himself, conveniently. Comfort is obtained from the separate ergonomically designed chair that won’t cause those inside the car to feel tired, even during a long trip. Above the glove compartment, there’s also a sliding tray that makes the cabin of this Mazda pick-up even more practical. Thanks to the spacious and quiet cabin, driving the Mazda BT-50 feels similar to driving a sedan.
Underhood
The Mazda BT-50 comes with a 2,499cc inline 4-cylinder MZ-DE 2.5L 12V SOHC engine. Counting on this engine, the Mazda BT-50 is able to produce a total power of 109 PS at 3,500 rpm and a total torque of 26.2 kgm at 2,000 rpm. For a better performance, the car also counts on the ball & nut steering system equipped with engine rpm sensing power steering technology in addition to the mechanical fuel injection system.
Safety
For the sake of driver’s and passengers’ safety, the Mazda BT-50 features ventilated discs for its front braking system and drums for its rear braking system. Besides that, other safety features include ABS, EBD, airbags and a power window system that will reverse its closing direction automatically in case something gets in the way.
